William Butler Yeats :
William Butler Yeats (13 June 1865-28 January 1939) was an Irish poet, dramatist, writer and one of the foremost figures of 20th-century literature. He was a driving force behind the Irish Literary Revival and became a pillar of the Irish literary establishment who helped to found the Abbey Theatre.

This blog is a part of our work as we are having Twentieth century literature in our syllabus,the work of the frame Study of two particular movies by Charlie Chaplin,is assigned by Dilip Barad sir.

Modern Times :

Modern Times is a 1936 American silent film written and directed by Charlie Chaplin in which his iconic Little Tramp character struggles to survive in the modern, industrialized world. The film is a commentary on the desperate employment and financial conditions many people faced during the Great Depression — conditions created, in Chaplin's view, by the efficiencies of modern industrialization.
It is notable for being the last time that Chaplin portrayed the Tramp character and for being the first time Chaplin's voice is heard on film.
In 1989, Modern Times was one of the first 25 films selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". In 2003, it was screened "out of competition" at the Cannes Film Festival.

First frame of the movie and is also can be called beginning of the movie, where people are coming to work in the factory without joy of working and their own opinion about the work.They are looking like the herd of sheep, following each other without applying their opinion of working.
Some of them might be that silly but a few of them might try to work on their own,the master would punish them by making them out of his industry as same as the shepherd punished his sheep.
Muscularity, Mind and the power of Money 
 
Here in this frame worker is having good physical power and the master has the power of Money as we are having some historical incidents also that mostly money overpowers strength and sometimes wise brain too.

  Control over Individual Privacy : 
 
In the development of industrialism that is a remarkable act of master and a miserable thing for workers that master is controlling individual privacy which can highly affect minds of working people that they will become machine.

Community of working people 
Working people were suffering of Unemployment and they come on the road for their rights and unknowingly the tramp became the leader.As a leader of the group police arrested tramp as he got removal of the jail he said that he wants to stay in the jail which represents the common people that he got ready to remain in jail so that he can have food and little certainty of his life.

It is also another image that little girt is stealing food for her family as her father was unemployed.
Tramp and the girl decide to live together that they can get food together and even they were dreaming about nothing but food, it's a miserable thing that people are dreaming of food.
Hope for the Life :
That image is having mountains and the road and both the people are going forward that is showing a beginning of good life.

The Great Dictator 

The Great Dictator is a tale of two worlds: the palace, where dictator Adenoid Hynkel rules, and the ghetto, where a Jewish barber struggles to make a living and survive. The comedic device of the film is the resem- blance between the Dictator and the Barber, who is later mistaken for the Dictator.

Chaplin's film advanced a stirring condemnation of Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, fascism, antisemitism, and the Nazis. At the time of its first release, the United States was still formally at peace with Nazi Germany and neutral during what were the early days of World War II. Chaplin plays both leading roles: a ruthless fascist dictator and a persecuted Jewish barber.

At the end where the Barber is misplaced with Hyncle and gives a speech which is universal in the way, because he didn't gave his speech in a way that Jew community can have benifit of his position as the dictator.In the good wish of all the human who were listening him, specially soldiers who were fighting only for the ambition and Ego of the dictator.
